Integration

I have just installed an application on my cell phone to jot down ideas, save them as drafts and later on publish them here. It looks really thorough and simple to use, just like WordPress.
This makes me think back on several things:

  1. if you haven’t started your online presence, or if you are unsure how to do it, now is the time to start thinking why and when you should start getting your own site up and running.
  2. if your web presence is up, and everything is working smoothly, what have you seen from other sites that you can bring into yours? Do you need more traffic? Are you looking for new customers? Do you want to give extra benefits to your existing customer base? In other words, what is the strategy that you are using online? Is it consistent with your offline strategy? Do they differ greatly?
  3. let’s say that your company wants to get into the Social Media bandwagon, how will they choose which site(s) to use? I would suggest going where your current and potential customers are. There is no need yet to open several accounts in places where your customers don’t hang out. And I say yet, because in a few months you may think about opening accounts in those sites to get some brand awareness and develop new customers, but it is not your top notch priority right now.

Are you worried about ROI from Social Media?

Are you worried about ROI from Social Media?

“Social Media is not just a set of new channels for marketing messages. It’s an opportunity for organizations to align with the marketplace and start delivering on behalf of customers”. – Valeria Maltoni, Principal, Conversation Agent, LLC

Are you worried about ROI? So, is everyone else! We are here to tell you that Facebook marketing efforts can provide you with a great ROI if you are willing to try some of the following:

Offer special promo codes: Communicate the offer on your wall post and direct fans to an offer/coupon tab which has the details. You must always track redemptions to determine ROI. After they purchase you can set up a thank you note or even send them a personalized note written by hand, and ask for their feedback.
Invite your customers to a webinar: Host a webinar where you address a specific problem or issue of your target market. Have a crystal clear call to action at the end of webinar. Make sure that you are solving the problem or at least generating ideas for your customers so they can realize what can be done and how it can be done.
Limited time offers: Users feel compelled to take action when there’s a special offer out on the table, and they can only get the offer during a limited time frame.
Capture their e-mail addresses: Add an opt-in form to collect user’s e-mail addresses. Tell your fans upfront what they will get if they submit their information. Use those e-mails wisely, not just fill their inbox with spam, offer important information and not just upsell. Create trust and always help your customers, they are your reason your company exists!

So, let’s not complain about lack of ROI anymore! Go and try above strategies and email us how they have worked for you.

Why 3 posts at the same time is a big No-No

Yes you did read that correctly, and this time I will be writing about using twitter.com. I love the idea of using twitter to connect to other people and have fun reading what they post. Occasionally I do skip some tweets because I see so many hash tags in them they’re just difficult to read. But what I especially do not like is when people start posting two or even three updates that are almost identical, except that they use Hootsuite and so the links will be shortened with their service and thus the two or three posts will go through twitter’s initial spam check (because of the link difference) and I will get to see them crowding my time line.

First thing tell them to stop that nonsense or right away block the user, your choice, but even if no one marks them as spam they will continue to do such bad practices and keep on bothering people with that nasty practice!

My recommendation to them you ask? There is a very simple tool that can help them do more with that same tweet if they can schedule it at the right time.

It is absolutely easy to use and will also determine good times to post your updates so you have more people seeing them! I suggest you program some of those times to moments where you will be able to respond so you are using the tool with a maximizing effect.

Have you used buffer? Tell me about it. Do you use another tool, why? how is it better?

Facebook Pages

So you have created your Facebook  Fan page, or for the company you are working on… Here comes the hard part! What to do next? How do I make people come to my page, like it and stay there or at least make them come hungry for more?

It is all up to you, and you know it. The first step is to think about this as a long term relationship, this is no 100 meter sprint, this is a long marathon. Do not start sending all kinds of messages all day long without a plan. What are the goals for using Social Media Marketing? what are the objectives? what do you expect to gain from using this tool? go through these questions and then come back for more.

Right, everything set, so know higher management wants to know how many likes you have, but they have not seen the news on the new statistic called “are talking about” that Facebook just recently came out with. Here is a post by Kevin von Duuglas that will help you understand the metric and how you could go past the “likes”.

Second step, produce engagement on the community, your community. That is the key to social media, or at least that is how I see it, us it to your advantage, post information that is valuable to the people that are listening to you, not just Random acts of marketing (Rams) as I have seen Pam Moore call them. (See more info on Rams here). Remember those goals, objectives I told you to think about, well if you not only thought about those questions and you also gave answers to them you should clearly visualize what you want to happen with your service/brand. So go ahead, start jumping in engaging that community and mostly talking about what they like, who they are and really get to know them so you can understand them and serve them better.

Ah but as so many people know, even with a great plan it can be tough sometimes and inspiration may be challenged, well don’t fret, bloggers are your friends, read, research and you will surely find more information to talk about, always. If that doesn’t seem to be working at all, then here are a great set of things to Post on Facebook Pages for Business for those times when you definitely cannot get it done.

I hope this helps you, but if you still seem stuck let’s get the conversation started, I’m in G+, twitter so go ahead send me a message and we’ll sort it out!

What other things can you think that can be useful to bring those followers into “engagement mode”? What has worked? What hasn’t worked?
